Commander Arun Jyoti (Retd), Vice President – Corporate Affairs at Smiths India & Smiths Group plc, has been elected as the Co-Chair (Industry) of the prestigious US–India Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP). This appointment marks another milestone in his distinguished career spanning strategic leadership across the Indian Navy, Global Corporations, and high-impact operations and policy advocacy.
Launched in 2007, the ACP serves as a premier bilateral platform that facilitates Civil Aviation collaboration between the US and Indian Governments alongside leading American companies. In his new role, Arun will be at the helm with FAA Co-Chair to deepen US–India ties in aerospace, championing innovation, safety, and sustainability in India’s Aviation sector. His leadership is expected to catalyze a new phase of collaboration across emerging aviation sub-sectors and policy ecosystems.
A decorated Submariner and Veteran of the Indian Navy, Arun has built an inspiring second innings in the Corporate World. At 173+ years old Smiths Group, he established the Corporate Affairs & Government Relations function for India and Greater India region. He has been instrumental in driving strategic stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and business expansion across Greater India. His earlier tenures at Honeywell and Shyam Indus Power Solutions saw him leading complex operations spread across India and in multiple sectors, Government Relations, crisis response (including bringing operations back to action early during Covid shutdowns), and transformational growth initiatives.
With over three decades of multi-domain leadership—ranging from national defence to corporate strategy—Commander Arun Jyoti brings unmatched expertise and purpose to his new role at ACP in addition to his role at the Smiths Group. His election underscores a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and technological cooperation in the rapidly evolving aviation landscape.
