Varun Krishnappa has taken charge as Co-Founder, Managing Director & CEO at FinAxis Distributors Pvt Ltd, bringing with him over two decades of leadership across India’s financial services industry. With FinAxis, Varun aims to build a scalable, transparent, and dynamic distribution ecosystem that bridges innovative financial and non-financial products with diverse customer segments across the country.
Prior to co-founding FinAxis, Varun played a pivotal role at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, where he spent over 17 years growing the business from the ground up. He rose through 12 internal promotions to become Joint Vice President, and led key partnerships with major banks such as Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and Karur Vysya Bank, steering distribution growth, operational excellence, and customer engagement strategies across India.
His financial acumen was further honed during his time at IDBI Bank, where he worked as a Relationship Manager and contributed significantly to both branch and corporate-level sales strategy. These roles laid the foundation for Varun’s expertise in revenue growth, partner management, and distribution transformation within the BFSI sector.
In addition to these core experiences, Varun also served as Chief Business Officer and Director – Distribution Development at financial instituions, further expanding his expertise in business strategy, partner ecosystems, and market innovation in emerging financial platforms.
