kapil Sharma has been appointed as the Vice President and Category Head – Grooming at Gillette India. In his new role, Kapil will spearhead the strategic direction and business growth of the grooming segment, which includes iconic brands such as Gillette, Venus, and Oral B. This move comes as Gillette India continues to strengthen its leadership in personal care and grooming through innovation and consumer-focused solutions.
Kapil brings over 21 years of rich experience in sales, digital commerce, and commercial leadership, having spent more than 18 years with Procter & Gamble in various global and regional roles. Most recently, he served as the Global Vice President – Digital Commerce & Superior Retail Execution at P&G, based in Cincinnati, where he led the digital commerce strategy and retail transformation across global markets. Prior to that, he held key roles as Vice President of e-Business & Innovation for the Asia Pacific, India Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa.
His tenure at P&G has been marked by his leadership in building large-scale businesses across diverse markets including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and the US. Kapil is known for driving business turnarounds, leading multifunctional teams, and delivering robust sales and market share growth. His expertise spans go-to-market strategy, brand management, shopper marketing, e-commerce, and omnichannel distribution, along with managing P&Ls and creating value-driven commercial frameworks.
Before joining P&G, Kapil began his career at ABB, where he spent nearly three years managing sales and project execution in the field of network protection and control. Across roles and geographies, he has demonstrated a consistent ability to craft winning strategies, lead with vision, and deliver breakthrough results. His appointment signals Gillette India’s commitment to continued growth, innovation, and executional excellence in the grooming category.
