Joydeep Saha has been elevated to the role of Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer at ManipalCigna Health Insurance, effective August 2025. With over two decades of leadership experience across India’s health and general insurance landscape, Joydeep brings a rare depth of actuarial and strategic expertise to his new position.
His journey with ManipalCigna began in 2017, where he served as Appointed Actuary and Chief overseeing Actuarial, Reinsurance, Product Development, Analytics, and Group Underwriting. His elevation is a testament to his impactful contributions over more than six years, including navigating regulatory complexities, enhancing product innovation, and driving data-led business strategy.
Joydeep’s career spans several leading organizations, including Niva Bupa, Religare Health Insurance, L&T General Insurance, Raheja QBE, and IFFCO Tokio. Starting his career at GE Capital as a Business Analyst, he steadily rose through actuarial and leadership roles, shaping product and pricing functions across multiple insurers. His deep grounding in analytics and actuarial science, combined with a sharp business lens, uniquely position him to lead in a competitive and evolving health insurance ecosystem.
An alumnus of IIT Bombay with a Master’s in Applied Statistics and Informatics, Joydeep is also a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI). In his new role, he is expected to steer ManipalCigna’s strategic growth by deepening distribution, enhancing digital capabilities, and advancing customer-first initiatives.
