Saumya Mittal has been appointed as the Chief People Officer for Asia at McDonald’s, taking on the responsibility of driving the end-to-end people agenda across Asian markets. With close to 15 years of experience across the consumer goods and technology sectors, she brings a wealth of expertise in business partnership, organizational design, diversity & inclusion, change management, and talent strategy. In her new role, she will play a pivotal part in shaping the company’s HR vision and strengthening its culture across diverse and dynamic geographies.
Before joining McDonald’s, Saumya had a successful career at Google, where she spent nearly eight years in key leadership positions. Most recently, she served as the APAC Commercial HR Lead, leading a regional team to implement transformational and sustainable HR practices. She has also worked as APAC People Partner and APAC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Lead, playing an instrumental role in advancing people-first policies and building inclusive workplaces across the region.
Her career journey began at PepsiCo, where she spent over a decade in various HR leadership positions, including Head of Culture, Diversity, Engagement and Change Management, GM Talent Acquisition – Sales & Marketing, and HRBP for HQ functions. At PepsiCo, she was responsible for large-scale HR transformations, cultural programs, and strategic people development initiatives that reinforced her reputation as a strong people leader.
Recognized for her impactful contributions to the HR community, Saumya has received several prestigious accolades. She was one of the winners of the People Matters “Are You in the List 2015: Top HR Leaders in the Country” and has been the recipient of multiple national and international awards at both PepsiCo and Google. Her consistent focus on innovation in HR practices and passion for empowering talent have positioned her as a change-maker in the industry.
