Sonpal Singh Hajari has been appointed as Vice President – Global Launch Integration at Agratas, a TATA Enterprise focused on building next-generation electric mobility and energy storage (BESS) solutions.
At Agratas, Sonpal will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end launch of large-scale gigafactories in India and the UK, ensuring seamless transition from greenfield project execution to stable, high-volume manufacturing. His mandate includes coordinating plant readiness, process development, equipment commissioning, and establishing robust systems and SOPs to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
With over two decades of experience in manufacturing and operations, Sonpal brings deep expertise in lithium-ion battery production, process industrialization, and large-scale plant management. Prior to this, he spent over seven years at TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Gujarat Private Limited, where he led cell manufacturing operations, drove capacity expansion, and managed cross-functional teams across Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering.
Earlier in his career, he held key leadership roles at Magna International and ArcelorMittal, where he was responsible for plant operations, productivity optimization, and large workforce management. He began his professional journey with Larsen & Toubro Limited, building a strong foundation in manufacturing and engineering.
Sonpal’s appointment comes at a critical time as Agratas accelerates the development of multi-billion-dollar gigafactories. His experience in executing complex projects and scaling manufacturing operations is expected to play a pivotal role in building world-class battery ecosystems and advancing the global energy transition.
