Hritu Kumar has joined Smartworks as Senior Vice President & Head – Internal Assurance, bringing with her over 23 years of extensive experience across audit, governance, compliance, risk management, and internal assurance. The appointment was made with the approval of the board, further reinforcing the company’s commitment to strengthening governance frameworks and operational excellence.
Over the years, Hritu Kumar has built a strong track record in internal audit, fraud investigations, governance enhancement, compliance management, and operational risk oversight across leading organizations. In her new role at Smartworks, she is expected to play a key role in enhancing internal controls, driving assurance strategies, and supporting the organization’s long-term governance objectives.
Prior to joining Smartworks, Hritu Kumar worked with JCB in Group Internal Audit. She also served as Senior General Manager & Head Internal Audit India at Compass Group, where she led internal audit and compliance functions across operations.
Her professional journey additionally includes leadership roles at Axis Max Life Insurance Company Limited, Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company Ltd., and Bharti AXA General Insurance. With her deep expertise in governance and assurance, Hritu Kumar’s addition is set to further strengthen Smartworks’ focus on compliance excellence and operational integrity.
