Sophia Nadur has been appointed as Strategic Advisor at Ostara Advisors, India’s leading deep-tech and sustainability-focused investment banking firm. In her new role, she will support the firm in strengthening its strategic advisory capabilities across energy transition, e-mobility, cleantech, and sustainable infrastructure while expanding its global investor and innovation network.
Sophia Nadur brings more than three decades of international leadership experience spanning corporate strategy, venture investing, innovation, and commercial transformation. Over the course of her career, she has held senior leadership positions across six Fortune 500 companies, including BP, Unilever, Mars, Coca-Cola, Kraft/Mondelēz, and British American Tobacco. Her extensive experience covers more than 20 markets worldwide, including India, China, the United Kingdom, Europe, Singapore, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Latin America.
Before joining Ostara Advisors, Sophia played a key role at BP, where she co-created the company’s global EV charging platform and contributed to the expansion of multi-billion-dollar joint ventures in India and China. As Managing Director and Investment Committee member at BP Ventures, she managed a portfolio worth over $200 million, investing in clean energy and mobility ventures across four continents. Her expertise in scaling innovation-led businesses and driving sustainable growth initiatives has positioned her as a prominent leader in the global energy and mobility ecosystem.
In addition to her corporate achievements, Sophia currently serves as Chair of the Investment Committee of a leading UAE-based cleantech accelerator and has previously held Non-Executive Director positions on boards in India and the UK. A qualified solicitor and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, she also serves as a magistrate in the UK and is a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers, representing all aspects of the energy sector.
