Mrinal Sharma Appointed as Partner – Projects, Infrastructure & Energy at Khaitan & Co.

Mrinal Sharma has been appointed as Partner – Projects, Infrastructure & Energy at Khaitan & Co., marking a significant milestone in his legal career spanning project development, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, public private partnership projects, public procurement and government contracts, and commercial contracts across the infrastructure, energy, transport, and natural resources sectors. In his new role, he will strengthen the firm’s Projects, Infrastructure & Energy practice by advising domestic and international clients on complex infrastructure transactions, energy projects, and strategic investments across the sector, including airports and civil

aviation, renewable energy, conventional power, rail transit systems, oil and gas, roads and highways, ports and shipping, and urban infrastructure.

Prior to joining Khaitan & Co., Mrinal was a Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co., where he progressed through several leadership roles including Principal Associate and Senior Associate, advising clients on some of India’s most significant infrastructure, energy, and project finance mandates. Earlier, he was associated with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as Associate and Senior Associate, and before that worked as an Associate at the erstwhile undivided Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co. Across these firms, he built deep expertise in infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, energy projects, EPC contracts, M&A and JVs, and commercial transactions.

Mrinal’s professional journey reflects an exceptional breadth of sector experience across India’s infrastructure and energy landscape. He has advised prominent clients, including the Airports Authority of India, GMR Group, Tata Motors, Brookfield Asset Management, Microsoft, ONGC, National Investment and Infrastructure Fund, Zurich Airport on matters spanning airports and civil aviation, railways and metro systems, automobiles and electric vehicles, minerals and iron & steel, renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, roads and highways, ports and shipping, logistics, hotels, semiconductors, data centres, healthcare, water and waste management, construction, education, FMCG, information technology, real estate, and financial services. His work has taken him across more than 30 jurisdictions worldwide, advising on large-scale public-private partnerships, government contracts, tenders, and complex cross-border transactions.
