In his new role, he will lead a diverse portfolio encompassing Power Transmission & Distribution, Water & Effluent Treatment, and Metals & Minerals, driving growth, customer excellence, technological advancement, execution excellence, and the development of a future-ready organization.
With over 34 years at the helm of large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects across India and the Middle East, Kumaresan has been instrumental in steering L&T’s Metals & Minerals business towards sustained growth, innovation, and global competitiveness. His journey from a young engineer to a senior business leader reflects not just professional mastery but an unwavering commitment to creating engineering solutions that build economies and enable industries.
He is a strategic leader recognized for building enduring client partnerships and creating sustained business value. Kumaresan has successfully directed transformational projects across metals, mining, infrastructure, and industrial sectors, earning distinction for strategic foresight, operational rigor, and delivery excellence.
Kumaresan is a cross-sector leader who has spearheaded state-of-the-art metallurgical projects for global metal producers across domestic & International markets, built high-performing multicultural teams, and forged strategic technology partnerships. He has been driving digital transformation through AI-enabled solutions and data-driven decision-making, consistently delivering enhanced operational efficiency, project execution, and customer value.
With a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Madras, Conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by St. Mother Theresa University Australia, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE, UK), a certified Project Management Associate (IPMA). His leadership training spans Harvard Business School, the Ross School of Business (University of Michigan) and the Indian Institutes of Management at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta. He completed his advance management program from INSEAD Singapore (AMP) and is a distinguished alumnus of the institution.
His deep understanding of the EPC ecosystem and proven leadership capabilities positions him to steer the Division towards greater scale, stronger synergies, and new growth opportunities.
