Abhay Pal Singh has been appointed as Head – Sales (North) at Svatantra Micro Housing Finance Corporation Limited (SMHFC), where he will lead and strengthen the organisation’s affordable housing and mortgage business across North India. In his new leadership role, he will focus on building a high-performance and scalable business franchise through branch expansion, distribution development, market penetration, team building, and customer-centric growth across key markets.
With over 18 years of experience across sales, banking, mortgages, and affordable housing finance, Abhay brings extensive expertise in business development, distribution management, portfolio growth, customer relationships, team leadership, and regional business strategy. Prior to joining SMHFC, he was associated with IndusInd Bank, where
he played a significant role in building and scaling the affordable home loans business across Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and NCR. His experience also included driving strategic growth initiatives, expanding business locations, strengthening operational performance, and building high-performing teams.
Earlier in his career, Abhay held important roles with DHFL, Aavas Financiers, and ICICI Bank, building strong expertise across home loans, mortgage lending, sales planning, portfolio management, alternate channels, customer acquisition, and business profitability. His experience across banking and housing finance has enabled him to develop a strong understanding of regional markets and the evolving needs of customers within the affordable housing ecosystem.
With his deep experience in building distribution networks, scaling mortgage businesses, and driving sustainable growth, Abhay Pal Singh is well positioned to lead SMHFC’s North India sales strategy and strengthen its presence across urban, semi-urban, and emerging markets. His appointment marks an important step in the organisation’s continued focus on expanding financial inclusion and creating a strong, customer-centric affordable housing franchise.
