Tatsuya Fujimoto takes charge as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance Company Limited, marking a significant new chapter in the company’s growth journey. With 28 years of experience across the Tokio Marine Group, he brings extensive global leadership expertise spanning strategic planning, corporate planning, underwriting, risk management, operational efficiency, customer analytics, branding, and business transformation.
His international career has included leadership experience across Japan, the United States, Malaysia, and India. Prior to taking charge as Managing Director and CEO, Fujimoto served as Director – Operations at IFFCO-TOKIO General Insurance and earlier as Senior Executive Director & Chief Risk Officer. His professional journey also includes serving as Deputy CEO at First Insurance Company of Hawaii, Senior Vice President at Tokio Marine America, and General Manager at Tokio Marine Insurans Malaysia Berhad, along with key responsibilities at Tokio Marine Holdings and Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance.
Having worked across commercial, personal, corporate, and reinsurance sectors, Fujimoto brings a strong understanding of the evolving insurance landscape and the opportunities created by customer-centric innovation and data-driven decision-making. His experience in developing customer analytics and customer experience strategies, combined with his focus on operational excellence and scalable growth, positions him to lead the organisation through its next phase of transformation.
An alumnus of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Keio University in Japan, Fujimoto also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) credential. With nearly three decades of global insurance experience and a deep understanding of IFFCO-TOKIO’s operations, he is well positioned to build on the company’s strong foundation and drive sustainable growth, innovation, and long-term value for customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders.
