Dr. Ravi Shekhar has been appointed as Principal Officer at Ather Insurance Limited, bringing extensive experience across insurance regulation, compliance, governance, risk management, and financial services. Guided by his belief that “Growth without governance is a liability; anchored by regulation, it becomes a legacy,” he brings a strong governance-focused perspective to his leadership role within the organization.
At Ather Insurance Limited, Dr. Ravi Shekhar oversees the insurance business while strengthening regulatory compliance and corporate agency operations. His responsibilities span policyholder protection, insurance distribution, AML/KYC and PMLA compliance,
governance frameworks, audits, inspections, and the development of SOPs and policies designed to enhance compliance monitoring and operational discipline.
Prior to Ather Insurance Limited, he served as Compliance Manager and Key Management Person at Prudent Insurance Brokers Pvt. Ltd., where he led regulatory compliance frameworks and worked closely with regulatory authorities including IRDAI, IFSCA, SEZ and FIU. Earlier, he was associated with Nissan Renault Financial Services India as Principal Officer – Insurance Compliance. His professional journey also includes roles at IFFCO Tokio General Insurance, where he led the Broker and Direct Vertical within the SME business, along with experience at Future Generali India Life Insurance and Max Life Insurance Company Limited.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Ravi Shekhar also gained experience across financial services, client management, fraud control, finance, and operations through associations with BSE Limited, SBI Card, True North AR, IT TechPros, and UMA Spices Limited. With this diverse foundation and deep expertise in regulatory oversight and insurance governance, he is well-positioned to contribute to Ather Insurance Limited’s journey of building sustainable growth anchored in trust, accountability, and strong regulatory discipline.
