Sunil Somani has been appointed as Vice President – Procurement at Archerchem Healthcare Ltd, marking a significant addition to the company’s leadership in supply chain and commercial operations. Based in Mumbai, Somani brings over three decades of extensive experience across procurement, commercial strategy, and operations within the pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals sectors.

Prior to this role, Somani served as Head of Commercial at G C Chemie Pharmie Ltd, where he played a pivotal role in managing procurement strategies for pharma raw materials and food ingredients across domestic and international markets. His responsibilities spanned annual budgeting, supplier negotiations, import logistics management, and delivering actionable market intelligence to drive sales and product portfolio expansion. He also led standard operating procedures and compliance frameworks aligned with CDSCO, FSSAI, and AQ regulations.

Earlier, Somani held a long-standing leadership position at Zuventus Healthcare Limited (a joint venture of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd), where he was instrumental in pan-India procurement planning, vendor development, contract negotiations, and supporting R&D and business development initiatives for new product launches. His work included collaboration with regulatory bodies such as DCGI, strengthening sourcing strategies, and optimizing procurement-to-payment processes while ensuring compliance and audit readiness.

His career also includes leadership roles at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, Genom Biotech Pvt. Ltd., and Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited, where he built deep expertise in procurement operations, inventory management, vendor audits, and plant setup execution. In his early career, he gained cross-functional exposure in marketing, sales, and engineering roles, contributing to his holistic understanding of business operations.

Somani’s core strengths include strategic procurement planning, market intelligence-driven negotiations, import logistics management, vendor development, regulatory compliance (CDSCO/FSSAI/DCGI), budgeting and cost optimization, supply chain analytics, and cross-functional leadership. His appointment is expected to further strengthen Archerchem Healthcare Ltd’s procurement capabilities and operational efficiency in a highly competitive and regulated industry landscape.
