Vinayak Deshpande has joined Wipro as Executive Director, bringing with him more than two decades of multidisciplinary expertise across smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and large-scale engineering leadership. Known for blending strategic clarity with hands-on innovation, Vinayak steps into this role with a vision to accelerate Wipro’s impact in Industry 4.0, enterprise digitalization, and AI-powered manufacturing.
Before joining Wipro, Vinayak spent over eight years at HARMAN International, most recently serving as Executive Director of Engineering. During this time, he played a pivotal role in modernizing manufacturing ecosystems, designing IT–OT convergence strategies, and enabling global factories to adopt IoT, AI, GenAI, RPA, and ERP/MES solutions with measurable business outcomes. His work centered on simplifying operations, enhancing agility, and transforming advanced technologies into practical, outcome-driven tools for manufacturers.
A Creative Technologist at heart, Vinayak is widely recognized for his ability to convert digital ambitions into actionable enterprise models. His approach emphasizes enterprise data design, Industrial Question Fabric–based frameworks, and bridging organizational layers—from shop floor to C-suite—through intuitive system design. His philosophy, “Software should empower business and not complicate it,” continues to guide his transformation-led initiatives.
Vinayak’s earlier roles at L&T Infotech, Genisys Consulting Group, and Impact Systems, where he contributed as a technology lead and content management architect, further shaped his understanding of scalable engineering systems and global delivery models. His long-standing association with Wipro in previous leadership roles, including as Account Delivery Head and Sr. Delivery Manager in BFSI and Insurance domains, strengthened his strategic, operational, and technology leadership capabilities.
In his new role at Wipro, Vinayak will spearhead digital manufacturing strategy, partner with global clients to unlock value through AI and data-driven decision-making, and guide organizations toward simplified, future-ready operations. His appointment marks a strong step in Wipro’s commitment to advancing technology-driven, business-aligned digital engineering solutions.
