BEML has appointed Debi Prasad Satpathy as Director of HR following his selection by the Public Enterprises Selection Board in March 2024. Satpathy, previously serving as Executive Director-HR at BEML, brings over 30 years of HR experience across Central and State Government sectors.
Shantanu Roy, welcoming Satpathy to the BEML Board, stated, “With decades of HR expertise, Satpathy has led initiatives that significantly enhanced the company’s growth and productivity. I’m confident he will guide BEML in a positive direction.”
Upon his appointment, Satpathy expressed, “I am honored to take on this role, enhancing my responsibilities towards BEML’s people and management. I look forward to contributing to a great work environment and supporting the company’s progressive plans.”
Satpathy began his career as an Executive Trainee at Nagaon Paper Mill, Hindustan Paper Corporation in Assam, eventually becoming Manager HR in 15 years. He joined BEML in 2011, where he led Industrial Relations and Recruitment and later headed the personnel department at the Bangalore Complex, introducing SAP HCM modules and developing custom IT solutions for HR.
He has been instrumental in negotiating pay revisions and long-term union settlements and has supported Government of India initiatives like CSR, Swachh Bharat, and Skill India. Satpathy holds a B.Sc (Honors) and an MA in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Berhampur University.
