Yash Ahuja has officially taken over as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd, one of India’s leading paint companies and a subsidiary of Japan’s Kansai Paint. His appointment, effective August 1, 2025, marks a key transition in the company’s leadership following the retirement of P.D. Pai, who concluded his tenure on July 31, 2025, after a significant contribution to Kansai Nerolac’s financial journey.
Yash joined Kansai Nerolac in April 2024 as CFO Designate and brings with him over 24 years of rich experience in strategic financial leadership across global and Indian enterprises. Prior to joining Kansai Nerolac, he held prominent positions including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer at Panasonic India, as well as senior finance roles at Wrigley’s, HP, GE, and SpiceJet. His industry-spanning exposure across consumer electronics, automotive, FMCG, aviation, and paints makes him uniquely positioned to lead the finance function of Kansai Nerolac.
A seasoned Chartered Accountant and Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Yash Ahuja is also an alumnus of South City College, Calcutta University, and has completed executive education at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. Over the course of his career, he has successfully led large-scale financial transformation projects, implemented cutting-edge automation in accounting processes, and handled complex tax and regulatory frameworks, both in India and internationally.
At Kansai Nerolac, which operates nine manufacturing facilities and 113 branches across India, Yash is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s financial strategy, improving cost structures, and strengthening corporate governance. His appointment reflects Kansai Paint’s commitment to steering the company toward future-ready financial practices while maintaining its legacy of operational excellence and market leadership.
