Vishal Rameshwar Upadhye Appointed Group CHRO at MyCar to Lead People Strategy for a Rapidly Expanding Automotive Retail Ecosystem

MyCar (Pune) Pvt. Ltd. has appointed Vishal Rameshwar Upadhye as Group Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), reinforcing the company’s commitment to building a scalable, high-performance people organization to support its next phase of growth.

Based in Pune, Vishal will lead the company’s enterprise-wide people strategy for a rapidly expanding automotive and retail ecosystem that spans 4,000+ employees across more than 200 locations nationwide. In his role, he will work closely with promoters, CXOs and business leaders to strengthen leadership capability, workforce productivity, culture, and HR digitization across the organization.

Vishal brings over two decades of global HR leadership experience across manufacturing, FMCG, consulting, realty, and technology-enabled organizations. Over the course of his career, he has led people transformations across India, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, managing workforces of over 12,500 employees and partnering closely with CEOs, promoters, and leadership teams to align people strategy with business growth.

His leadership has consistently delivered measurable outcomes, including a 45% improvement in sales-to-people-cost ratio, enabling revenue growth without proportional headcount expansion, strengthening leadership pipelines, and driving improvements in employee engagement and diversity representation.

Prior to joining MyCar, Vishal served as Head – HR and Administration at The Indian Card Clothing Company Ltd., where he partnered with promoters and CXOs across India, the UK, Turkey, and APAC to lead enterprise-wide HR transformation initiatives. His work included implementing Balanced Scorecard performance systems, driving post-acquisition cultural integration, strengthening leadership development frameworks, and advancing HR digitization across multi-location manufacturing operations while maintaining industrial harmony.

Earlier in his career, Vishal held leadership HR roles with global organizations including Ball Corporation, GIA (Gemological Institute of America), Biltech Building Elements Ltd., and Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., where he contributed to large-scale HR transformation programs, industrial relations governance, greenfield HR function setup, and organizational capability building.

An alumnus of the Symbiosis University, Indian Institute of Management Raipur and a SCP certified HR leader from SHRM, Vishal is recognized for aligning people strategy with organizational growth and transformation.

His appointment at MyCar reflects the company’s strategic focus on building a future-ready, data-driven HR organization capable of supporting large-scale frontline workforces in India’s evolving automotive services and retail landscape.
