Abhijit Joshi has been appointed as Managing Director of CVG India, a part of Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVG). In this role, he will lead the India domestic and export business, with end-to-end responsibility for strategy, growth, profitability, and operational performance. He will oversee the company’s P&L across manufacturing, engineering, sales, supply chain, quality, and corporate functions, while driving operational excellence, digital transformation, customer-centric innovation, and sustainable business growth.
Abhijit will work closely with global leadership to strengthen customer partnerships, accelerate innovation, enhance governance and ESG initiatives, and build a high-performance organization focused on creating long-term value for customers, employees, and shareholders.
Abhijit brings over two decades of leadership experience across the automotive, commercial vehicle, power systems, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining CVG India, he served as Vice President at Greaves Cotton Limited, where he led strategic business growth, P&L management, and enterprise-wide operational transformation. Earlier, he held several leadership roles at Cummins, including Cummins Technologies (Powertrain & Components Business), Tata Cummins, Cummins India Limited, and Caterpillar Inc., where he served in business and country leadership positions.
Throughout his career, Abhijit has built a strong track record of delivering profitable growth, business transformation, commercial excellence, operational optimization, and customer-centric strategies. He has successfully led large-scale change initiatives, Lean and Six Sigma-driven performance improvement programs, digital transformation, and cross-functional teams across domestic and international markets, consistently creating sustainable value for customers and stakeholders.
Earlier in his career, Abhijit held the position of Head – Business (Country Head) at Caterpillar Inc., where he drove revenue growth, managed P&L and manufacturing joint venture operations, and led cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and quality. He also served as General Manager (Country Head) at Cummins Generator Technologies, advancing through multiple leadership roles to oversee order-to-cash operations, strategic planning, new product launches, Six Sigma-led business improvements, and sustained business growth.
Abhijit’s professional journey also includes serving as Executive Manager – Assistant General Manager at Cummins India, where he managed product and solutions businesses across multiple B2B industry segments, drove strategic business operations, and implemented Six Sigma methodologies as a certified Green and Black Belt to optimize costs and operational processes. He began his leadership journey as Manager – Sales, Marketing & Business Development at OPSL, where he established market presence through client acquisition, business development, marketing, and customer-focused growth strategies.
His extensive experience in business leadership, commercial excellence, operational transformation, and strategic execution positions him strongly to lead CVG India’s next phase of growth.
