Visa has announced the appointment of Anand Jha as the new Vice President and Head of Government Engagement for India and South Asia. In this position, Anand will lead Visa’s initiatives to engage with government bodies and regulators throughout the region.
Prior to joining Visa, Anand was the Managing Director of Government Relations at Blackstone for India and South Asia. He has also held significant positions at companies like Heineken and Walmart India. Notably, before transitioning to the corporate sector, Anand had an extensive career in public service, spending nearly two decades in various key roles within the Government of India, culminating as the Additional Director General at the Competition Commission of India.
Sandeep Ghosh, who oversees Visa’s operations in India and South Asia, expressed his enthusiasm about Anand’s appointment. He believes that Anand’s experience will strengthen Visa’s collaboration with the government, especially in advancing India’s financial inclusion and digital transformation.
Anand Jha also voiced his enthusiasm about joining Visa, eager to contribute to the company’s mission and make a significant impact in the region.
