Bharat Raizada has been appointed as Global Head of Enterprise Cloud at American Express, where he will also serve as India Leader for Global Infrastructure. With more than two decades of global technology leadership experience, Bharat brings deep expertise in engineering, cloud transformation, enterprise infrastructure, and digital platforms to his new role. Based in Bengaluru, he will play a pivotal role in advancing American Express’ enterprise cloud strategy and strengthening its global technology ecosystem.
Prior to joining American Express in August 2025, Bharat served as Managing Director & Chief Technology Officer for India and the Philippines at Wells Fargo. During his six-year tenure, he led a 3,000+ member technology organization, driving foundational enterprise technology platforms across private and public cloud engineering, developer platforms, API management, observability, AIOps, and generative AI solutions for development. He also held additional global responsibilities as Head of CTO Architecture and Head of Developer Experience Toolchains, significantly shaping Wells Fargo’s technology modernization agenda.
Earlier in his career, Bharat held senior technology leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as Executive Director, where he drove product and engineering delivery for API platforms, automation frameworks, and observability products. Before that, he spent nearly eight years at Goldman Sachs as Vice President, leading global engineering teams across foundational technology platforms. His professional journey also includes leadership stints at Cognizant Technology Solutions, ECS Consulting (PwC Consulting India), BNY Mellon Pershing, and CGI, where he built strong expertise in global delivery, IT strategy, and enterprise-scale technology transformation.
With a career spanning global financial institutions and technology consulting, Bharat has consistently demonstrated his ability to lead high-impact technology transformations while navigating complex regulatory environments. His leadership style is defined by a blend of strategic foresight and engineering depth, ensuring that technology functions act as business enablers. At American Express, Bharat is poised to accelerate enterprise cloud adoption, enhance developer ecosystems, and drive innovation across infrastructure capabilities to support the company’s long-term growth.
