CA Niraj Kumar has been appointed as Partner – Risk Consulting at EY, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career spanning 25 years in risk, internal audit, and forensic advisory. A qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), he brings deep expertise in governance, compliance, and enterprise risk management to his new role.
In his position at EY, Niraj will focus on strengthening the firm’s risk consulting practice, driving large-scale governance and internal audit transformations, and helping organizations navigate increasingly complex regulatory and business environments. His appointment reflects EY’s continued investment in building strong leadership in risk and advisory services.
Prior to joining EY, Niraj served as Senior Vice President – Global Head of Internal Audit, Forensic & Risk at OYO, where he led global audit and risk functions, building scalable frameworks and enhancing internal controls across geographies. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at KPMG as Associate Partner – Advisory, and worked with organizations such as Carrefour India, Walmart India, Max India Limited, and Reliance Retail Limited, where he drove impactful risk and compliance initiatives across sectors.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Niraj is actively engaged in the professional ecosystem. He is a special invitee to the Internal Audit Standards Board (IASB) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and also serves as a Member of the Board of Governors at the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Delhi Branch. A recognized thought leader, he regularly participates in industry forums including ICAI, IIA, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM, and is frequently invited to management institutions to engage with students and emerging talent.
