GL Gupta has joined Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) as the Group Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), marking a pivotal leadership addition to one of India’s most diversified infrastructure conglomerates. In his new role, Mr. Gupta will spearhead procurement and supply chain operations across MEIL and its group companies—Olectra Greentech, Drillmec S.p.A., Megha Gas, and ICOMM—bringing over three decades of strategic leadership to multi-sectoral EPC operations.
At MEIL, he will be responsible for integrating group-wide procurement strategies across complex business verticals including transportation, water infrastructure, power, hydrocarbons, refineries, clean mobility, and defense. With a focus on enabling timely, cost-effective, and digitally enabled procurement systems, Mr. Gupta’s leadership will be instrumental in aligning sourcing strategies with MEIL’s multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects across global markets.
Prior to MEIL, Mr. Gupta served as President & Chief Procurement Officer at Kalpataru Projects International Ltd., where he led procurement initiatives for projects in more than 70 countries. His earlier leadership roles include Senior Vice President at Reliance Infrastructure, Vice President and EPD Head at Azure Power, and General Manager at Reliance Infrastructure, along with a foundational tenure as Senior Project Manager at NEERI. His rich portfolio spans over 6,000 MW of thermal power, solar plants, global refinery and petrochemical projects, metro and railway systems, offshore infrastructure, and airports.
An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, IIT Roorkee, and MNIT Jaipur, Mr. Gupta blends strong engineering acumen with board-level strategic advisory capabilities. He is widely recognized for developing global vendor ecosystems, leading procurement digitization, and driving operational excellence. As MEIL continues to expand its global footprint, Mr. Gupta’s vision will be central to enhancing procurement intelligence, optimizing margins, and ensuring seamless project execution across continents.
