Himanshu Churi has joined Universal Sompo General Insurance Co. Ltd. as an HR Business Partner, bringing with him deep expertise across talent management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and employee engagement. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening people strategies, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, and supporting organizational growth across functions.
With a strong background in the banking and insurance sector, Himanshu is a seasoned HR professional known for his hands-on approach to business partnering and building robust HR frameworks. He has demonstrated strengths in driving end-to-end talent acquisition, shaping HR policies, and enabling leadership teams through effective people advisory and market insights.
Prior to this appointment, Himanshu served as Head – Talent Acquisition, COE, and Zonal HR Business Partner at Polycab India Limited, where he led strategic hiring initiatives and centers of excellence. His earlier experience includes impactful HR leadership roles at Axis Bank, SBI General Insurance, YES Bank, and ICICI Bank, where he managed large-scale recruitment, human capital management, and employee lifecycle programs.
An alumnus of VIVA Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, Himanshu combines academic grounding with practical industry experience. At Universal Sompo, he is expected to play a key role in fostering a high-performance culture, enhancing employee engagement, and building future-ready HR capabilities in a competitive insurance landscape.
