Kamal Singh Thakur has been appointed as Senior Vice President – Operations at IMP POWERS LTD, marking a significant milestone in his leadership journey across power transformer manufacturing, plant operations, operational transformation, and manufacturing excellence. In this strategic leadership role, he will strengthen the company’s operational capabilities, enhance manufacturing excellence, drive process optimization, and support IMP POWERS LTD’s continued growth in the power transformer industry. With over 25 years of experience in the electrical manufacturing sector, he brings deep expertise in plant management, cost optimization, Lean manufacturing, productivity enhancement, and operational leadership.
Prior to joining IMP POWERS LTD, Kamal served as Plant Head at Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd, where he led large-scale manufacturing operations and successfully drove significant revenue growth, improved production capacity, reduced cycle times, optimized asset utilization, and maintained exceptional quality standards. During his tenure, he also played a pivotal role in manufacturing complex transformer
solutions, including high-voltage and furnace transformers. Earlier, he also served as Assistant Vice President – Operations at TMC Transformer India Pvt Ltd, contributing to operational excellence and manufacturing efficiency.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Technical Associates Ltd, where he served as GM Manufacturing and Production Head, overseeing manufacturing operations and production management. Before that, he was GM Production at ATLANTA ELECTRICALS LIMITED, leading production excellence initiatives. At EMCO Ltd, he held multiple leadership positions including Manufacturing Manager, Head of Production, and Winding Head, where he strengthened production planning, process optimization, and transformer manufacturing capabilities. Earlier in his career, he worked with CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited as Production Executive – Winding and Engineer – Winding, building strong expertise in transformer manufacturing, winding operations, and process monitoring. He also served as a Business Partner as a transformer winding contractor, providing specialized technical execution services for large transformer projects.
With extensive experience spanning plant operations, production management, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma practices, CAPEX planning, ERP implementation, operational transformation, and large-scale transformer manufacturing, Kamal Singh Thakur is well-positioned to lead IMP POWERS LTD’s operations function and support the company’s next phase of manufacturing growth and operational excellence.
