Poornima Kamath has been appointed as Head of People & Culture, APAC at Amadeus, bringing with her over two decades of transformative leadership in human resources across global and diverse industries. Known for her strategic vision and deep expertise in talent management, organisational effectiveness, and diversity & inclusion, Poornima’s appointment marks a significant step in strengthening Amadeus’ people-first approach in the Asia-Pacific region.
Before joining Amadeus, Poornima served as Head of People and Culture at Fi, where she led organisational culture, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives that contributed to business growth and strengthened company values. Prior to that, she spent over four years at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, taking on multiple leadership positions including Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and Head – Sales and Commercial HR. Her efforts in fostering an inclusive workplace and embedding robust HR strategies played a pivotal role in driving performance and retention.
Poornima’s most extensive corporate tenure was at Microsoft, where she worked for nearly 13 years in varied HR leadership roles. She supported business groups across Engineering, Research, Services, and Support while managing talent strategies for multi-country operations in APAC, EMEA, and beyond. Her contributions included building leadership capability, establishing diversity charters, rolling out global performance models, and spearheading innovative onboarding and development programs that created a sustainable talent pipeline.
With career beginnings at Mysis Healthcare, Poornima built a strong HR foundation that evolved into a global leadership journey. Across her career, she has been recognised for her ability to integrate business priorities with people strategies, navigate complex cultural contexts, and champion diversity as a driver of organisational success. At Amadeus, Poornima will focus on advancing people and culture initiatives to align with the company’s growth objectives in the dynamic APAC market.
