Shanmuga Priyan has been appointed as Cluster CEO – Chennai, Tamil Nadu at BMH Group (KKR Platform), where he will lead the group’s Chennai operations while driving strategic growth, operational excellence, new hospital and clinic initiatives, project execution, and healthcare transformation. In this leadership role, he will focus on strengthening BMH Group’s presence in the region by enhancing operational performance, expanding healthcare services, and delivering patient-centric excellence through innovation and sustainable growth.
With more than 24 years of experience in healthcare leadership, Shanmuga brings extensive expertise in hospital operations, P&L management, business development, project commissioning, quality, strategic planning, and organizational transformation. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions with leading healthcare organizations including JOGO Health as Chief Strategist – South East Asia, Gleneagles IHH, Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Hospitals, and Vasan Healthcare, where he successfully led multidisciplinary teams, operational transformation, business expansion, and high-impact healthcare initiatives across diverse healthcare ecosystems.
Following his corporate leadership journey, Shanmuga spent the last five years as an Independent Healthcare Consultant, advising several prominent healthcare organizations, hospital groups, medical institutions, startups, and expansion projects across India and international markets. During this period, he served as a strategic advisor to organizations including SRM Corporate Hospitals, Medway Group of Hospitals, Reliva Rehab (India’s largest physiotherapy company), Wellcube Dubai, and St. Peter’s Medical College & Hospital, while also leading the successful planning, commissioning, and operational strategy for Dr. Humayun Speciality Hospital. He further contributed to healthcare transformation through hospital commissioning, strategic business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and advisory support for emerging healthcare ventures.
