Fastly Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Smita Satyavada as Senior Director – Strategic GTM & Partnerships (India). In this role, she will lead Fastly’s go‑to‑market strategy and partner ecosystem in India, with a focus on accelerating growth, deepening customer impact, and expanding the company’s presence across one of its most strategic markets.
Smita brings nearly two decades of experience building and scaling cloud, edge, and security businesses across India and North America. Most recently, she spent four years at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she led a multi‑million‑dollar cloud business for the AWS India Startups segment. At AWS, she built and coached high‑performing sales teams, partnered closely with founders and CXOs, and drove cloud adoption and growth across sectors including fintech, SaaS, e‑commerce, gaming, media, and healthcare.
Prior to AWS, Smita spent eleven years at Akamai Technologies in a blend of sales, solutions engineering & architecture, and customer success leadership roles. Over this period, she led sales transformation initiatives, scaled sales teams, and guided solutions engineering and customer success functions supporting global markets and major technology customers. Her work spanned cloud and security solution adoption, partner development, and enterprise growth programs across North America, with a particular focus on SMB and Scale segments.
Smita began her career at Infosys Technologies Ltd as a systems engineer, working closely with leading telecom customers such as British Telecom and Belgium‑based Telenet. In these roles, she built a strong foundation in carrier‑grade systems, production support, systems integration, and network‑centric enterprise technology delivery, experience that continues to inform her approach to modern digital infrastructure and go‑to‑market strategy.
With deep cross‑functional experience across sales leadership, strategic partnerships, solutions architecture, and customer success, Smita is uniquely positioned to help Fastly partner with India’s fastest‑growing digital businesses, startups, and large enterprises. Her appointment underscores Fastly’s commitment to investing in India, strengthening its leadership bench, and building a robust, partner‑led GTM motion that serves the needs of modern application builders and digital natives across the region.
