Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is proud to announce the elevation of Mr. T. Kumaresan as Senior Vice President & Head of its Minerals & Metals Independent Company (M&M IC). A stalwart within L&T, Mr. Kumaresan brings with him over three decades of rich experience, marked by exceptional leadership, deep technical knowledge, and a visionary approach to project delivery.
In his new role, Mr. Kumaresan will lead the charge for L&T’s Minerals & Metals IC – a powerhouse EPC vertical delivering large-scale, complex projects across the metals and mining sectors in India and the MENA Region
He also oversees L&T’s state-of-the-art manufacturing hubs at Kansbahal (Odisha) and Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu), both of which play a crucial role in engineering excellence and India’s self-reliance in core sectors.
A Mechanical Engineer from the University of Madras, Mr. Kumaresan began his L&T journey in 1992. Over the years, he has held key roles in planning, execution, and leadership across projects in steel, aluminium, copper, and zinc. Most recently, he headed L&T’s Non-Ferrous & International Business, where he played a pivotal role in expanding L&T’s EPC footprint across the MENA region.
His academic credentials include advanced leadership programs from INSEAD, Harvard Business School, Ross School of Business (Michigan), and the IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Kolkata. A Fellow of the UK’s Institute of Mechanical Engineers, he is also a Chartered Engineer and certified Project Management Associate (IPMA). In 2023, he was honoured with the “Project Execution Leader of the Year” award for his outstanding contributions.
Mr. Kumaresan’s unwavering focus on customer centricity, execution excellence, and quality-first delivery has earned him immense respect within L&T and the industry. As he takes the helm of the Minerals & Metals IC, his leadership promises to further fortify L&T’s position as the preferred global EPC partner in the metals and mining domain.
