Varun Krishnakumar has been appointed as Vice President – Product Management & Design at Simplilearn, bringing with him over a decade of expertise in product leadership, technology strategy, and business innovation. In this role, he will lead the company’s product management and design functions, ensuring that Simplilearn continues to deliver impactful, learner-focused solutions for professionals worldwide. His appointment underscores Simplilearn’s commitment to driving innovation in the rapidly evolving edtech landscape.
Prior to this, Varun served as Chief Product Officer at Flurn, where he was a core member of the three-member executive leadership team. He was instrumental in identifying and scaling new business lines, shaping go-to-market strategies, and owning the technology charter. Before Flurn, he was Vice President – Products & Technology at Furlenco, where he launched ‘UNLMTD by Furlenco’, a new business initiative that boosted revenues and delivered large-scale automation to enhance operational efficiency.
During his tenure at Furlenco, Varun rose through multiple leadership positions, from Senior Product Manager to VP, consistently delivering strong business outcomes. His initiatives drove significant improvements in key performance metrics, including conversion rates, average order value, and customer lifetime value. Earlier in his career, Varun gained valuable experience in diverse roles such as derivatives trading at Futures First and software development at Exeter Group and Celusion Technologies, reflecting his adaptability and multi-domain expertise.
With his proven ability to blend strategic vision, analytical acumen, and user-centric design thinking, Varun’s appointment is set to strengthen Simplilearn’s product leadership as the company continues to expand its global presence and transform the upskilling journey for learners.
