Venkatram R has been appointed as Vice President and Business Unit Head – Emerging Verticals at Saksoft Limited, effective May 13, 2026. In this role, he will lead the company’s Emerging Verticals business comprising Hi-Tech & SaaS, Telecom, and Utilities, with full P&L and sales accountability. He will spearhead growth initiatives across digital transformation, software engineering, Generative AI, intelligent automation, and data engineering, helping enterprises build intelligent products and platforms for the next generation of business.
With nearly three decades of experience spanning enterprise IT, global delivery, and business leadership, Venkatram has built and scaled high-performance organizations across Communications, Media & Technology, Insurance, Life Sciences, and Logistics. Throughout his career, he has led large-scale business portfolios, managed multi-geography delivery operations, and driven large-scale transformation programs that combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen. His leadership philosophy is centered on delivering measurable business outcomes while enabling organizations to harness emerging technologies for meaningful growth.
Prior to joining Saksoft Limited, Venkatram served as Engineering & Delivery Head at Altimetrik, where he led cross-functional teams of Data, AI, and Digital specialists delivering enterprise transformation programs. Before Altimetrik, he spent more than 21 years at Cognizant, where he steadily progressed through multiple leadership positions, most recently serving as Senior Director – Enterprise Automation & AI for Insurance and Communications, Media & Technology verticals. Earlier at Cognizant, he held roles including Global Delivery Partner, Senior Manager/Associate Director, Account Manager, Assistant Manager – Business Development, and Senior Business Analyst, building extensive expertise in enterprise automation, customer engagement, digital transformation, and delivery excellence.
Venkatram began his career at Gati Limited as an Operations Manager, developing a nationwide logistics system and handling business operations across India and Sri Lanka. He then served as a Functional Consultant at Megasoft, where he led teams in the creation of web-based freight forwarding products. Later, as a Business Analyst at CG Maersk Technologies, he provided client consulting and focused on logistics and freight management solutions.
Venkatram’s appointment reflects Saksoft Limited’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capabilities across emerging industries. With his extensive experience in AI-led transformation, enterprise technology, digital engineering, and global business operations, he is well positioned to drive the next phase of growth and innovation for the Emerging Verticals business.
