Satish N. Thaker has joined GO Desi as Senior Vice President, bringing with him an illustrious career spanning FMCG, commodities, retail, and e-commerce. An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Satish has managed large-scale portfolios at leading organisations such as Procter & Gamble, ITC, Metro Cash & Carry, Reliance Retail, JioMart, ElasticRun, and LOTS Wholesale Solutions. Known for blending commercial strategy with operational excellence, he is set to play a pivotal role in driving GO Desi’s growth and market leadership. With nearly three decades of leadership experience, his appointment marks a significant milestone for the organisation.
Satish began his career in FMCG sales and distribution, spending over a decade with Procter & Gamble, ITC, General Mills, and Bharti Airtel, where he built a strong foundation in consumer marketing, modern trade, and distribution strategy. His expertise in developing new markets, launching products, and driving channel growth laid the groundwork for his future leadership roles.
In the years that followed, Satish held senior mandates in retail, wholesale, and HoReCa operations at METRO Cash & Carry, Reliance Retail, ElasticRun, and LOTS Wholesale Solutions. At Metro, he rose through the ranks to oversee FMCG food, HoReCa, and pricing portfolios, delivering sustained growth and operational efficiency. At Reliance Retail and JioMart, he led key FMCG and home & personal care categories, spearheaded procurement strategies, and played a central role in the company’s New Commerce transformation.
In his most recent role as Vice President – Commercial at LOTS Wholesale Solutions, Satish delivered a remarkable turnaround—making all stores profitable for the first time in the company’s history, achieving consistent sales growth, expanding the HoReCa segment significantly, and maintaining high stock availability. Earlier, at ElasticRun, he doubled the FMCG business in a short span, onboarded India’s biggest FMCG brands for direct partnerships, and expanded the company’s rural B2B footprint by launching new warehouses across multiple states.
Fluent in six languages, Satish was born in Hyderabad to a Gujarati family with deep roots in South India, giving him a unique cultural fluency across markets. Outside of work, he is passionate about digital transformation, generative AI tools, reading, teaching, cricket, chess, and long drives. His professional journey reflects a rare ability to combine the precision of a strategist with the agility of an operator, consistently delivering profitable growth in competitive markets.
