Mumbai-based social worker Chinuu Kwatra has been recognised on multiple international platforms for his sustained contributions to sustainability, climate action, and community development. He was recently felicitated at the International Conclave 2025, held at the British Parliament, London, an event that brought together global policymakers, thought leaders, and delegates from India and across the world to deliberate on leadership, global cooperation, and strengthening India–UK relations.
Further reinforcing his global footprint, Chinuu Kwatra also represented India at QS Impact London and won the Sustainability Innovator Award, where he highlighted grassroots-led approaches to environmental responsibility and social impact. His work gained significant recognition at Climate Action Week, Maldives, where his flagship initiative, ‘Trash to Treasure’, received the Climate Action Award 2026, as voted by global participants.
The ‘Trash to Treasure’ initiative has successfully recycled marine plastic waste into functional utilities such as school benches, tables, and dustbins, preventing over 4,000 tonnes of waste from entering the oceans—marking a first-of-its-kind effort in India.
As the Founder of Khushiyaan Foundation and Beach Warriors, Chinuu Kwatra continues to lead large-scale clean-up drives across beaches, water bodies, and mountainous regions, while simultaneously empowering local communities. His work reflects the growing importance of grassroots innovation in addressing global environmental challenges and underscores the role of collaborative leadership in building a sustainable future.
