Anil Mandviwala Appointed as Head – Business Development at The Surat People’s Co-operative Bank Ltd

The Surat People’s Co-operative Bank Ltd has appointed Anil Mandviwala as Head – Business Development, marking a key leadership addition as the bank sharpens its growth, expansion, and market outreach strategy.

A seasoned banking professional, Anil Mandviwala brings over 27 years of experience across retail banking, government and institutional business, treasury operations, liabilities, credit, and strategic business development. In his new role, he will focus on driving business growth, strengthening institutional partnerships, expanding the bank’s footprint, and enhancing customer acquisition and engagement.

Prior to this appointment, Anil Mandviwala spent nearly two decades at Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, most recently serving as Vice President & Regional Head – Government Business, Gujarat. During his tenure, he led large-scale government, PSU, and institutional relationships across the state, driving CASA growth, treasury balances, fee-based income, and the adoption of digital banking solutions. His career at Kotak reflects a strong record of revenue growth, client relationship deepening, and market-focused execution.

Earlier in his career, he began his banking journey with The Surat People’s Co-operative Bank Ltd, where he handled treasury and funds management, including government securities, treasury bills, call money, CBLO, and repo transactions, while also contributing to Asset Liability Management (ALM) systems. His appointment represents a meaningful homecoming, bringing back deep institutional knowledge and a strong strategic perspective.

Widely recognised for his strengths in business development, customer relationship management, treasury and ALM, regulatory compliance, and product re-engineering, Anil Mandviwala has consistently delivered growth in highly competitive banking environments. He is also known for building high-performing teams and developing strong government and institutional networks.

An alumnus of DBIM, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (MBA – Finance) and a CAIIB-qualified banker, his appointment reinforces the bank’s focus on experienced leadership, disciplined execution, and sustainable growth. His return is expected to further strengthen the bank’s market position and accelerate its next phase of expansion.
