Murali Dharmalingam has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer at GRIDsentry, strengthening the companyโs leadership team as it accelerates its mission to secure critical infrastructure through advanced Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity solutions. In his new role, Murali will lead the technology strategy, solution architecture, and delivery execution for OT cybersecurity programs across power utilities, substations, control centres, and critical infrastructure environments across India, APAC, and the Middle East.
With over two decades of experience in cybersecurity, Murali brings deep expertise in Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs), Operational Technology security, AI-driven threat management, and cybersecurity strategy. He has an impressive track record of building and scaling security operations, transforming MSSPs into high-performing, revenue-generating businesses. Throughout his career, he has successfully driven business growth, expanded teams, and leveraged Generative AI and automation to enhance threat detection, response, and operational efficiency across diverse industry sectors, including BFSI, healthcare, manufacturing, and government.
Prior to joining GRIDsentry, Murali served as Deputy General Manager at Tata Communications, where he led and scaled MSSP operations across MDR, GRC, Application Security, and OT Security portfolios. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in growing the MSSP business from $2 million to $5 million in revenue, scaling the workforce significantly while establishing Centers of Excellence for MDR, OT Security, and Application Security. Earlier, he served as Security Operations Manager at EspinaIT in Qatar, leading cybersecurity operations and OT security initiatives for critical infrastructure environments.
Before that, Murali held the position of Associate Director at KPMG India, where he advised clients on cybersecurity strategy, MDR services, SIEM/SOAR implementations, cloud security, and risk management. He also spent nearly 14 years at HCLTech, progressing through multiple leadership positions including Associate General Manager, Group Technical Manager, Consultant, and Associate Consultant, where he led cybersecurity operations, threat hunting, SOC management, and service assurance initiatives. Earlier in his career, he worked with Tata Consultancy Services as an Associate Systems Engineer and began his professional journey at Adrenalin eSystems Ltd. and Harsa Softech Services, building a strong foundation in software engineering and IT infrastructure.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpurโs Advanced Program in Cyber Security and Cyber Defense, Murali is widely recognized for his expertise in OT cybersecurity, AI-powered security operations, threat intelligence, and strategic cybersecurity leadership. His appointment marks an important step for GRIDsentry as the company expands its capabilities in securing critical infrastructure and industrial environments through innovative and vendor-neutral cybersecurity solutions.
