Abhinav Sharan has been promoted to Vice President at Tata AIG General Insurance Company, marking another significant milestone in his leadership journey within the general insurance industry. The elevation reflects the organisation’s confidence in his strategic leadership and his consistent contribution to strengthening Tata AIG’s reinsurance capabilities over the past eight and a half years.
During his tenure at Tata AIG, Abhinav has played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s reinsurance strategy, enabling sustainable business growth through effective risk transfer solutions, portfolio optimisation, and strong partnerships across domestic and international markets. His expertise spans multiple insurance segments, including Property, Engineering, Marine, Motor, Health, Liability, Financial Lines, Employee Benefits, Crop, Aviation, Space, Parametric Insurance, and Event Cancellation, positioning him as a well-rounded leader in the reinsurance domain.
Known for his strategic approach and deep technical expertise, Abhinav has successfully led initiatives across facultative reinsurance, product development, business strategy, portfolio management, and stakeholder engagement. He has worked closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, legal, distribution teams, as well as global reinsurers and brokers, driving collaborative solutions that balance commercial growth with prudent risk management. His leadership has also been recognised for mentoring talent, fostering high-performing teams, and building long-term industry relationships.
Prior to joining Tata AIG General Insurance Company, Abhinav was associated with HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, where he further strengthened his expertise in the insurance sector. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Business Management)with a specialisation in Marketing from the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH). In his new role as Vice President, he will continue to lead Tata AIG’s strategic priorities by strengthening specialised reinsurance capabilities, expanding global partnerships, supporting business innovation, and contributing to the organisation’s long-term growth objectives.
