Tata Motors’ Shailesh Chandra Appointed President of SIAM for 2024-2025

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, has been elected as the new President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for the 2024-2025 term. Chandra, who has a robust engineering background and extensive experience in the automotive sector, takes over from Vinod Aggarwal, MD and CEO of Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV).

Chandra has been instrumental in driving innovation at Tata Motors, leading projects that have significantly impacted the company’s market presence. His election as SIAM President reflects his influential role in the industry and is expected to strengthen collaboration across the sector.

Joining him in leadership, Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO of Ashok Leyland, has been appointed as Vice-President of SIAM, while Satyakam Arya, CEO and Managing Director of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, will serve as Treasurer.

This new leadership team will guide SIAM in addressing key industry challenges and driving growth, especially in areas like sustainability, electric vehicles, and policy advocacy for India’s evolving automotive landscape.
