Finance leadership today demands far more than financial control. It requires strategic judgment, operational depth, and the ability to influence decisions at the highest levels. Deepesh Baxi exemplifies this evolution.
With nearly two decades of experience across industry and Big 4 environments in the UK and Asia, Deepesh has built a career rooted in finance, strategy, and executive leadership. His work spans sectors such as Oil and Energy, FMCG, Infrastructure, and Biotechnology, giving him a broad, cross-industry perspective on value creation. Recognized as ‘Best CFO of the Year (Industrial)’ (2025) at The Asset Triple A Treasurise Awards, ‘Leading CFO of the Year’ (2022) by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and ‘CXO of the Year’ (2020) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Deepesh exemplifies financial excellence anchored in strategic foresight and execution agility.
Currently, as Group Chief Financial Officer at Nayara Energy, Deepesh operates at the center of enterprise decision-making, contributing to executive, board, and audit committee deliberations. His leadership is shaped by rare end-to-end exposure—having worked across country operations, regional offices, global business units, and global headquarters, including the downstream segment.
Prior to this, Deepesh held senior roles at Castrol and BP, serving as Chief Financial Officer & Whole-time Director and Head of Strategy for Asia Pacific and Global Controller. His early consulting experience at Arthur Andersen & Co. further strengthened his analytical rigor and advisory mindset. An alumnus of The Wharton School and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, where he studied Corporate Strategy and Financial Value Creation, Deepesh brings a disciplined, value-driven approach to leadership—aligning financial strategy tightly with long-term business outcomes.
A people-centric leader, Deepesh is deeply committed to building high-performing teams, empowering talent, and fostering a culture of capability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
