Dr. Venkatesan N has been appointed as Chief Procurement Officer at Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited, taking on a strategic leadership role at the organization’s Corporate Office in Chennai. With extensive experience spanning healthcare procurement, supply chain management, materials, pharmacy operations, and commercial functions, he brings a strong track record of building and leading large-scale supply chain operations across India’s healthcare sector.
Prior to joining Apollo Hospitals in his new leadership role, Dr. Venkatesan served as Director & Chief Procurement Officer – Supply Chain Management at Max Healthcare, where he led procurement and supply chain functions at a senior leadership level. Before Max Healthcare, he spent several years with HealthCare Global, progressing through roles
including Vice President – Supply Chain Management, Senior General Manager – Supply Chain Management, and General Manager – Supply Chain Management (Corporate), where he served as Group Head for Purchase, Stores & Supply Chain Management.
His career also includes key leadership assignments at BLK Super Speciality Hospital as Deputy General Manager – Purchase, Paras Healthcare Private Limited as Assistant General Manager – Commercial & Supply Chain, and Fortis Healthcare Limited as Deputy Manager – Materials, where he headed the Materials department of a 300-bed hospital. Earlier, he was associated with Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited as Senior Executive – Pharmacy Operations, handling 30 standalone pharmacy branches in Bangalore, and with MEDSOURCE HEALTHCARE PRIVATE LIMITED, a unit of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, as Executive – Pharmacy.
Dr. Venkatesan began his professional journey with SPH Fire Systems Pvt Ltd in Singapore in Office Administration and earlier worked with Apollo Hospitals as D.E.O – IP Pharmacy in New Delhi. Bringing together decades of healthcare-sector experience across procurement, supply chain, materials, commercial operations, and pharmacy management, he is well positioned to strengthen Apollo Hospitals’ procurement and supply chain capabilities and contribute to its continued operational excellence.
