Sunil Krishnan Appointed as Business Head – Knits Division at Alok Industries Ltd

Sunil Krishnan has been appointed as the Business Head – Knits Division at Alok Industries Ltd, a strategic move that underscores the company’s continued focus on expanding its textile manufacturing capabilities. In this leadership role, Sunil will be responsible for driving a topline of over ₹400 crores and enhancing profitability for the knits fabric vertical, in line with the group’s broader corporate vision.

Sunil brings with him nearly three decades of rich experience in the textile and apparel industry. Prior to this appointment, he served as Senior Vice President – Marketing at Technocraft Industries India Ltd, where he led global marketing for the knitted apparel fabric division. His deep understanding of product positioning and market dynamics helped establish a strong international footprint for processed knitted fabrics such as solids, prints, and yarn-dyed varieties.

This appointment marks a return to familiar grounds, as Sunil previously spent over 16 years at Alok Industries, including in the role of Vice President – Sales & Marketing. During his earlier tenure, he was instrumental in developing business with major global and domestic retail brands like Levi’s, Calvin Klein, Target, Tesco, Primark, Jockey, and Decathlon. His strategic initiatives contributed significantly to the company’s growth, especially in aligning products with global sourcing strategies and enhancing throughput efficiency.

Sunil has also led several sustainability-focused projects, including the innovative processing of cotton fabrics using environmentally responsible methods. His efforts contributed to Alok’s position as a forward-looking textile manufacturer, in step with the growing emphasis on sustainability trends in Indian textiles. He played a key role in marketing these developments to leading sportswear brands like Adidas, Reebok, and Columbia Sportswear.

With India’s textile sector evolving rapidly under guidance from institutions like the Ministry of Textiles, Sunil’s appointment comes at a pivotal time. His deep domain expertise, strategic mindset, and proven leadership will be central to driving innovation, profitability, and market expansion for Alok Industries’ Knits Division.
