Pankaj Jha has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Vedanta Limited – Power Sector. With over 16 years of global experience spanning finance strategy, business planning, risk management, internal audits, and corporate governance, Pankaj brings deep expertise and strong leadership capabilities to his new role. His appointment reflects Vedanta’s commitment to strengthening financial excellence and driving sustainable value creation in the power business.
Pankaj has been an integral part of the Vedanta Group for more than 15 years, having led several key financial portfolios across its businesses. Most recently, he served as CFO of Vedanta Limited’s Aluminium Business in Jharsuguda, where he played a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, cost optimization, and internal control frameworks. Earlier, he held progressive leadership positions within Vedanta, including Deputy CFO and senior management roles, consistently contributing to performance improvement and transformation initiatives across the organization.
His career began with Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, where he worked as Associate Manager (FP&A), creating cost-conscious frameworks and preparing financial reports for senior leadership. He also gained early experience with Bharat Petroleum as an Industrial Trainee, strengthening his foundation in financial reporting, audits, and MIS. Over the years, Pankaj has built a strong reputation as a finance leader who blends strategic vision with operational execution.
With international exposure across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, Pankaj brings a global perspective to his leadership. Known for his ability to benchmark practices with global standards and leverage technology and data analytics, he has consistently driven business transformation and governance improvements. In his new role as CFO of Vedanta Limited – Power, he will focus on optimizing financial performance, strengthening governance, and enabling long-term growth for the business.
