Smitha Hemmigae has been elevated to Chief Market Officer (CMO) at ANSR, reflecting both the evolution of her leadership journey and the expanding role of marketing in shaping the future of the Global Capability Center (GCC) ecosystem.
Her new title signals more than a functional shift. At ANSR, the role of a Chief Market Officer is rooted in shaping markets, influencing enterprise narratives, and building category leadership, not simply marketing to an existing audience. Over nearly six years at ANSR, Smitha has helped build a market-facing engine that elevated GCCs from an industry niche to a boardroom and policy conversation, positioning ANSR at the center of one of India’s most consequential enterprise growth stories.
When Smitha entered the GCC industry, the category itself often required explanation. A short pitch on why Global Capability Centers would fundamentally transform how the world’s largest enterprises build, innovate, and operate. Today, GCCs have become central to enterprise strategy, with India emerging as a strategic hub for global business, home to thousands of GCCs that collectively employ millions and generate over $60 billion in economic value.
At ANSR, Smitha has been instrumental in helping shape this narrative. Under her leadership, ANSR built a powerful market presence through flagship platforms and ecosystem initiatives that brought GCC conversations to global and enterprise forums, from Davos to state-level policy and strategy engagements across Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.
Before joining ANSR, Smitha built a strong marketing leadership foundation across leading technology and consulting organizations including Thoughtworks, CSS Corp, Unisys, Infosys, Logica, and Aztec Software. Across more than two decades, she led initiatives spanning digital marketing, strategic communications, enterprise growth, industry positioning, and high-value deal enablement. She also co-founded Your Philanthropy Story, reflecting her broader interest in purpose-led impact alongside enterprise leadership.
Her elevation to Chief Market Officer represents not only a personal milestone but also ANSR’s continued commitment to shaping the future of the GCC market at a time when India is increasingly helping write the next chapter of the global enterprise story.
