Sreeram Subramanian has joined Faucone Malaysia Sdn Bhd as the Chief Operating Officer – Healthcare Division, bringing with him an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the pharmaceutical industry. With 32 years of rich experience, he is widely recognized for his leadership skills in successfully building and managing large business units while ensuring patient safety remains paramount.
Before this new role, Sreeram made significant contributions across some of the most respected names in the pharmaceutical sector. He served as Vice President – Quality Head – CRDMO at Jubilant Pharmova Limited and earlier as Head of Quality at Syngene International Limited, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening global quality standards. His career also includes a notable tenure as Global Head of Quality at RV Healthcare PTE. LTD., where he headed the quality operations for three countries, further underlining his expertise in quality assurance and compliance on an international scale.
Sreeram’s leadership journey has also been marked by impactful positions at major pharmaceutical giants.
At Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited, he served as Associate Director and Head – NPL, where he led the on-time launch of around 170 new products across the globe in four years. Prior to this, he held the role of Head – CMO DF India Quality Operations at Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., managing 65 manufacturing locations. He also held senior roles at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd. as Assistant General Manager – API Quality Assurance, and at Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd. as Assistant Manager – Validations, building a robust foundation in quality systems.
Earlier in his career, he worked at Shasun Chemicals and Drugs Ltd. as Deputy Head – Quality, and later advanced to senior managerial responsibilities at Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited. These experiences collectively showcase his deep-rooted expertise in quality management, operational excellence, and global regulatory frameworks.
Sreeram has rich experience in handling multiple business models (in-house, in-licensing, principal to principal, loan licensing, and turnkey loan licensing) within the CDMO and generic space.
He has handled multi-cultural and multi-ethnic teams and successfully synergised their energies to achieve organisational financial and quality objectives. He also gained rich experience in mergers and acquisitions during his stints at Dr. Reddy’s and Ranbaxy. In his career so far, he has faced more than 55 regulatory inspections (from across the world, predominantly from USFDA, MHRA, TGA, PMDA, ANVISA, Russia) from the front, all resulting in successful approvals.
He has a wealth of experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects spanning discovery, development, vivarium, DMPK, commercial manufacturing up to overall lifecycle management. He has rich experience in both small molecules and biologics and within them, both drug substance and drug product. He also has extensive experience in food, drugs, and cosmetics.
He is a staunch believer in preventive action and right-first-time, on-time activities.
