Abhijit Sadhu has been appointed as Assistant Vice President – Compliance at SMFG Grihashakti, marking a significant milestone in his career spanning RBI regulatory testing, control testing, internal audit, risk management, governance, and financial services. In his new role, he will contribute to strengthening the organization’s compliance framework, regulatory governance, and risk management practices across its operations.
Prior to joining SMFG Grihashakti, Abhijit served as Senior Manager at Spandana Sphoorty Financial Limited, where he responsible for risk-based audits, control testing, Risk Control Matrix (RCM) preparation, statutory audit coordination, and KYC/AML compliance initiatives. Earlier, he was associated with IndusInd Bank (deputed from BFIL) as Audit Manager, managing Business Correspondent audits, CKYC verification, data-driven compliance reviews, and strengthening internal control frameworks.
Before that, he spent over fourteen years with Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of IndusInd Bank), progressing through the roles of Audit
Associate, Audit Executive, Assistant Manager, Manager & Lead Manager. During this tenure, he led branch audits across multiple regions, strengthened operational controls, enhanced risk management practices, and supported senior leadership with audit reporting and governance initiatives.
With extensive experience across audit, compliance, regulatory governance, operational risk, and financial controls, Abhijit is well-positioned to support SMFG Grihashakti’s continued focus on robust compliance practices and operational excellence.
