Barnona Basu has taken on the role of Director – Marketing, India Business at Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, bringing with her over 25 years of rich experience in pharmaceutical marketing, therapy leadership, and patient-centric strategy. In this leadership position, she will focus on shaping therapy excellence, strengthening purpose-led marketing strategies, and advancing human-centric patient support ecosystems across Emcure’s India business.
A seasoned pharma marketing leader and therapy expert, Barnona is widely recognized for driving transformative patient support programs through innovation and creative strategy. Prior to joining Emcure Pharmaceuticals, she spent more than two decades at Lupin India, where she held multiple senior leadership roles including Senior General Manager – Marketing, Therapy Head, and Senior General Manager – Patient Support Programs (PSP). During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in building impactful therapy franchises and designing patient-focused initiatives that enhanced outcomes and engagement.
Earlier in her career, Barnona built strong foundations in medical communication and brand strategy through roles at Sudler & Hennessey, Aristo Pharmaceuticals, and Ranbaxy, gaining hands-on experience across medical content, client servicing, and medico-marketing functions. Her journey reflects a deep understanding of both scientific rigor and strategic storytelling within the healthcare ecosystem.
An MBA from NMIMS and an MPharm Gold Medalist from Nagpur University, Barnona brings academic excellence alongside industry depth. Beyond her professional achievements, she is an accomplished Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi danseuse, holding the title of Nritya Acharya. Her blend of discipline, creativity, and leadership is set to further strengthen Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ marketing vision and patient-first approach in India.
