Kishor Vitalkar has been appointed as General Manager – Head, Battery Management System (BMS), Battery Business at Ashok Leyland, Hinduja Group. Bringing nearly two decades of hands-on experience, he has built deep expertise across Battery Management Systems and battery pack development spanning 2W, 3W, passenger vehicles, Energy Storage Systems, commercial vehicles and BESS applications.
Prior to this role, Kishor served as General Manager – Pack Engineering Technology at TATA Agratas, where he led strategic planning, talent development and technology and facility development for Pack and BMS capabilities. Earlier, as AGM – R&D Battery Pack at Exide Energy Solutions, he led a 30-member engineering team and drove BMS architecture, battery pack development and complete product lifecycle management.
His international experience includes leadership and engineering roles with Xerotech, SVOLT Energy Technology, Great Wall Motor and Kokam in Ireland, China and South Korea. His work has encompassed BMS software, battery pack sizing, functional safety, firmware development, hardware validation and system testing across mobility and energy storage applications.
At Ashok Leyland, Kishor is set to bring this extensive BMS and battery engineering expertise to the company’s Battery Business, supporting the development of advanced battery technologies and strengthening capabilities across the evolving electric mobility ecosystem.
