Narayan Gurav has been appointed as Head of Human Resources at Tata Motors Body Solutions Limited, taking charge of HR and Employee Relations functions for two key bus manufacturing plants in Dharwad and Lucknow, along with overseeing Engineering (R&D), Sales, and Marketing functions. With over 20 years of diverse experience across automotive, heavy engineering, and textiles industries, Narayan brings deep expertise in business partnering, talent management, leadership development, and organizational transformation.
In his current role, Narayan leads HR strategy for a large workforce, focusing on resource planning, talent acquisition, performance management, capability building, change management, and employee engagement. His strong background in industrial relations, diversity and inclusion, and organizational development enables him to drive both operational excellence and a people-centric culture.
Prior to this role, Narayan served as Deputy General Manager – HR for Tata Motors Global Services Ltd., where he led a team of 17 and managed 1,500+ employees, driving strategic HR initiatives, workforce planning, and capability building. His earlier experience spans leadership roles at Mahindra & Mahindra, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Indo Count Industries, Tozai Exports, and Hind Group of Companies, where he developed expertise in implementing robust HR frameworks, change management, and employee engagement programs.
In addition to his current appointment, Narayan holds the position of General Manager, further reflecting his comprehensive leadership experience and strategic contributions to HR across multiple functions. His appointment as Head of HR is set to strengthen Tata Motors’ commitment to building high-performing teams and nurturing a culture of innovation and engagement across its operations.
