Shalini Fernandes has been appointed as the Head of Human Resources at Crédit Agricole CIB, taking charge of a pivotal role that involves leading the strategic setup and expansion of the organization’s Global Capability Center (GCC) in India. With nearly two decades of experience in human resources across banking, IT, hospitality, and global services, Shalini brings a wealth of expertise in HR transformation, talent strategy, and organizational leadership. In her new role, she is focused on establishing a strong foundation for regulatory compliance, sustainable growth, and a high-performing, values-driven culture aligned with the Group’s global ambitions.
Before joining Crédit Agricole CIB in June 2025, Shalini served as Vice President – Human Resources at BNP Paribas for over four years. There, she was instrumental in driving large-scale people strategies, organization development initiatives, and fostering inclusive leadership practices. Her contributions in aligning HR agendas with business goals helped shape a more agile and resilient workforce during a period of dynamic growth in the organization.
Her earlier experience includes key leadership roles such as Director of Human Resources at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, where she oversaw talent development and employee engagement strategies in the hospitality sector. She also held long-term roles at Capgemini and FIS, where she advanced through strategic HR business partnering, program management, and capability building efforts. Her early career included foundational HR positions at Intelenet Global Services and customer service roles at Sitel, which provided her with a comprehensive understanding of frontline operations and workforce dynamics.
Shalini’s appointment at Crédit Agricole CIB marks a significant step in the bank’s India growth narrative, especially in strengthening its operational footprint through the GCC model. Her strategic approach to change management, deep knowledge of organizational effectiveness, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are expected to play a vital role in shaping the people agenda and delivering impactful business outcomes for the institution.
