Venugopal Terla serves as Chairman & Founder of Varnika Insights, where he leads a globally recognized AI-driven talent solutions firm focused on building internal capability, driving competency development, and enabling organizations to become resilient, innovative, and future-ready. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded across multiple geographies including India, the USA, UK, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. He has pioneered the “Zero Hiring” philosophy, helping organizations significantly reduce external hiring by upskilling internal talent, while also launching advanced technology training programs in cybersecurity and IAM in collaboration with global bodies such as Microsoft, CompTIA, EC-Council, and IAPP.
In addition to his entrepreneurial journey, he serves as Chief Advisor and Chair with the Indian Government and is an Honorary Member of the Skill Advisory Board for Emerging Technologies, contributing to national-level initiatives in IT and future skills. He is also an Honorary Member of the VTU Internship Guidelines Advisory Board under the Government of Karnataka. Earlier, he had an extensive tenure at Wipro, where he held multiple leadership roles including Global Head – ERP, Analytics, Data & Artificial Intelligence, Global Salesforce Head, and CIO–EA, CTO, and Global Practices Head for Learning & Development and Talent Transformation, driving large-scale P&L growth, global expansion, and AI-led transformation initiatives.
Prior to Wipro, Venugopal served as Chief Technology Officer and Global CIO at Mphasis, where he led digital transformation strategies and scaled practices significantly. He also held the role of Global CIO and CTO, Digital Head at Birlasoft, managing large teams and driving revenue growth across global markets. His earlier leadership journey includes Accenture, where he served as Global CRM Practice Head and CIO – India, Automotive & Manufacturing Head, scaling operations and building high-impact technology practices, as well as foundational roles at Bharat Forge Ltd and Tube Products, where he developed deep expertise in manufacturing and digital systems.
