Rakesh Agarwal founder and executive chairman of GenXAI is appointed as executive advisor to the board of Short Orbit Defence

Rakesh Agarwal, Founder and Executive Chairman of GenXAI, has been appointed as Executive Advisor to the Board of Short Orbit Defence, marking a strategic addition to the company’s leadership as it accelerates its innovation and growth roadmap. With over 25 years of experience spanning business analysis, business process optimization, and business intelligence, Rakesh brings a proven track record of enabling organizations to enhance performance, strengthen decision-making frameworks, and drive measurable outcomes.

At GenXAI, Rakesh Agarwal has been instrumental in shaping data-driven strategies and advancing AI-led transformation initiatives. His deep expertise in aligning analytics with business goals has positioned him as a trusted advisor to enterprises seeking scalable and future-ready solutions. The appointment also reflects the growing strategic relationship between GenXAI and Short Orbit Defence.

The two organizations have partnered to develop next-generation AI-powered defence solutions, combining Short Orbit Defence’s expertise in defence technologies and counter-drone systems with GenXAI’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and edge AI. Their collaboration is focused on building indigenous, AI-enabled platforms capable of addressing evolving security requirements while supporting India’s broader vision of technological self-reliance. In his new advisory role at Short Orbit Defence, he is expected to contribute to high-level strategic direction, governance, and long-term value creation.

His earlier experience includes leadership roles at Ernst & Young and other leading organizations, where he drove large-scale digital transformation initiatives and operational excellence programs. Across his career, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to bridge business strategy with technology, making him a valuable addition to Short Orbit Defence’s board as the company continues to scale its capabilities in a competitive digital ecosystem.

Shortorbit Technologies Private Limited, formerly known as “The Rainmakers,” is an Indian technology company operating across defence, AI, and IT solutions, with capabilities in cryptography, secure communications, and custom software development. The company has entered into a strategic technology partnership with GenXAI to jointly develop next-generation AI-powered Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) designed to protect defence installations, critical infrastructure, public spaces, and strategic assets from evolving drone threats. While ShortOrbit leads the development of the core defence technology stack, including RF spectrum monitoring, drone detection and identification, surveillance systems, sensor integration, electronic countermeasures, and overall C-UAS platform engineering, GenXAI is co-developing the artificial intelligence capabilities powering autonomous decision-making, threat analysis, drone detection and classification, multi-sensor data fusion, and continuous learning through its GenXAI Engine™.

The collaboration represents a significant step toward ShortOrbit’s broader vision of building a fully indigenous Electronic Warfare (EW) ecosystem that combines RF intelligence, AI-driven threat analysis, autonomous decision-making, and advanced electronic defence capabilities into a unified sovereign technology platform. As the company continues to expand its footprint in high-impact and security-driven innovation, Rakesh Agarwal’s appointment as Executive Advisor is expected to prove highly valuable. His deep expertise in data-led transformation, governance, AI innovation, and enterprise scalability positions him as a key enabler in refining strategic direction, strengthening decision-making, and supporting the company’s ambitions to scale advanced indigenous defence technologies for both domestic and global markets.

Beyond technology innovation, GenXAI is also contributing to talent development through its affiliation with Jain University to launch specialized Master’s Degree programs in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity. This initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to building India’s future AI workforce and strengthening the ecosystem of talent, research, and innovation required to support the next generation of AI-led industries.
